Professor Prokar Dasgupta OBE

MSc(Urol) MD, DLS FRCS FRCS(Urol) FEBU

Professor Prokar Dasgupta is a world-leading robotic urological surgeon and internationally recognised pioneer of robotic surgery. He is Professor of Robotic Surgery and Urological Innovation at King’s College London and former Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Urology International (BJUI).
An early adopter of robotic surgery in the UK, he has played a major role in training and mentoring robotic surgeons worldwide and has led landmark research in robotic, image-guided, and tele-surgical innovation.
He has authored over 1,100 academic publications and received numerous international honours, including the BAUS St Peter’s Medal and the John Wickham Lifetime Achievement Award in Robotic Surgery.

Mr Mohamed Mussa

Mr Mohamed Mussa is a fellowship-trained Trauma and Orthopaedic Robotic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hip and knee revision surgery, with a particular focus on advanced robotic-assisted techniques. He is a certified robotic hip and knee surgeon, delivering cutting-edge robotic technology within the NHS to enhance surgical precision, alignment, and patient outcomes.

An internationally recognised and worldwide speaker, Mr Mussa regularly shares his expertise in robotic and revision lower limb arthroplasty with audiences across the globe.

Alongside his clinical practice, he holds key leadership roles as Trauma, Mortality, and Surgical Site Infection Lead, reflecting his commitment to patient safety, innovation, and excellence in orthopaedic care.

Mr Supratik Chattopadhyay

MBBS, DGO, MD, FRCOG

Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist, Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeon.​

Mr Chattopadhyay is a Senior Subspecialist Gynaecological OncologySurgeon in Leicester, UK, with over 10 years of experience in advanced gynaecological cancer surgery and minimal access surgeryspecialising in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

He provides sentinel lymph node mapping and excision for endometrial andcervical cancers both laparoscopically as well as with the robotic platforms. He has performed over 300 robotic procedures with the da Vinci Si andthe Xi platforms.

He also offers complex open pelvic surgery, laparoscopic surgery and roboticsurgery in general gynaecological conditions like fibroids, adenomyosis andovarian cysts. He has a special interest in robotic surgery for deep pelvic endometriosis.

Dr Behnaz Sohani

PhD, CEng, FHEA,

Dr Behnaz Sohani is a Lecturer in Robotics and Automation at Loughborough University, where she is a key member of the Intelligent Automation Centre.
She holds a PhD in Robotics and Biomedical Engineering and brings extensive international
research and teaching experience in intelligent systems for healthcare technologies.

Dr Sohani’s research sits at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and medical
imaging, with a particular focus on designing and applying intelligent robotic systems that
enhance diagnostic and surgical outcomes.

Her expertise encompasses advanced computer
vision, machine learning, and AI-driven methods integrated into robotics platforms for assistive
healthcare, medical decision-support, and transformational technologies in clinical
environments.

Prof Gary A Ford CBE

FMedSci

Professor Gary Ford is Chief Executive of Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley, leading the adoption and spread of innovation across the region’s health and care system since 2013.

He is also Professor of Stroke Medicine at the University of Oxford and a practising consultant stroke physician at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Nationally, he has held senior leadership roles including Chair of the AHSN Network (2021–23) and non-executive director at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. He also serves on the strategy board of the National Institute for Health and Care Research and is a non-executive director of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

He was awarded a CBE in 2013 for services to stroke research and, in 2018, was named one of seven research legends whose work has transformed NHS care.

Mr Michael Mokawem

MBChB FRCS (Tr&Orth)

Mr Michael Mokawem is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, an internationally recognised centre of excellence. He specialises in paediatric and adult spinal deformity and all aspects of complex spinal surgery.
His practice places a strong emphasis on advanced technologies, including computer-navigated and robotic-assisted spinal surgery, alongside minimally invasive and traditional open techniques. By tailoring each approach to the individual, he delivers precise, patient-centred care and supports patients in making fully informed treatment decisions.
Mr Mokawem's adult spinal practice is based at the Cleveland Clinic London, with paediatric spinal surgery undertaken at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
